The Silk Road Saga

For nearly fifteen hundred years, the Silk Road across the Eurasian continent spanned a longer time and distance than any other highway in human history and affected more people in profound ways—economically, spiritually and politically. Travelers on the Silk Road have bequeathed to us myriad stories of adventure and exploration, of valor and war, and of a search for meaning and for profit.

Join Robert Jones on March 19 for his illustrated talk on the legendary network of trade routes which stretched from China to the Mediterranean. Robert has studied and taught about the Silk Road and has traveled the route extensively from China, through Central Asia and Persia and into Turkey. He will also bring examples of the fabulous weave that gave the trade route its name.
